Comment: I've swapped out the CD drive from my 350 MHz Imac for a DVD drive. When trying to play a DVD in This machine using Apple's DVD Player 1.1 I got an error message stating that I did not have the proper hardware installed. Any suggestions? FYI, It reads CDs fine.

Reply: (edit)Eric, Not certain as I've never attempted such a hardware swap - but try download of Apple's latest Classic DVD Player: Apple DVD Player 2.7. Download and documentation found at: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum= 120022 good luck =) clockwork

Reply: (edit)No sure if you're still checking this post, but I read on another forum that you need to have a hardware (MPEG?) decoder built into the mac. If you don't the drive will just act as a CD-ROM.
