ibook wont start after watchin dvd

i was watching a movie dvd, it started sticking as they often do, but this time it was different it froze and theimage was flickering. normally the dvd player reports a failure and quits and everything is fine. nothing this time. not even alt control del worked. i had to turn off from main on/off. i turned back on nothing only wizzing noises. i have tried all the keys, holding space to eject disk whilst starting, c, d. only once the apple logo appeared but hung. since then nothing. what can i do. i can't get the dvd out.i have turned it on and off many many times no improvement.
