Hi all,

Have a really weird problem with a customer's computer. Neither Netscape Communicator 4.7 nor Internet Explorer 5.1 will show her her church's updated webpage! The webpage shows up fine on other computers (my Win98 incluede), but brings up a webpage that she says is two years old! The site hasn't moved or anything, so I'm at a loss. Here's what I've tried so far;
1. Clearing cookies in both IE and Netscape
2. Clearing History in both
3. Clearing Cache in both

but nothing has fixed the problem. Could it be settings regarding how she connects to her internet provider? It's weird, because other web pages seem to work fine (at least ones she accesses normally...mmm boy, now what? Here's her system at a glance...

iBook
Mac OS 9.0.2
64 MB Memory
Vitrual Memory 140 MB
Internet Explorer 5.1
Netscape Communicator 4.7

Thanks again.

Her ISP might have a proxy server set up that has a problem with its cache.

Any chance iCab works?

What happens if you hold down the option key and select Reload in any of the three browsers?

Haven't tried iCab or the Option/Reload thingy yet; have tried to Reload a page, but that's all. I'll let you know the results...

You're not going to believe this; she checked with her friends who have the same ISP, and sure enough, they were having problems, too. I contacted the ISP; they were "seeing" the old website, too. Guess what? If you type in the four-number set of the IP address, viola, there is the NEW webpage. They're working on the issue as to why it won't hit the new webpage with URL. Damndest thing I've ever seen...

Sounds like the ISP has a misconfigured DNS or cache proxy somewhere along the line.
