Trying to install the above OS in the G3 It installs ok,then when it reboots it just sits there with the Mac logo.Its a fresh install,i have run all hardware test and it all comes up ok.I am not a Mac person its my daughters,who gave it to me.It was working,before I did a fresh install thanx Howard

How long did you wait for anything to happen? I noticed that startup time took longer the first time I rebooted after any system upgrade.

thanx for your reply I have tried up to 2 hrs and nutten someone told me maybe my install disk is no good but it instaeed ok thanx howard

hello again also when it tries to boot the logo comes on then drops down about a 1/4" down howard

Not knowing how competent you are on the computer, please forgive me if I suggest something which is elementary to you. How did you do the installation? Did you boot from the CD and follow all the prompts & install to the correct drive? Did you then select 'Startup Disc" from the pull down menu at the top before rebooting? Was the computer running a previous operating system before doing this?

hello i did the install from booting from the install disk but never saw an option for starup disk howard

also yes the comp was running great before i did the install howard
