I have a new iBook (OS 9.2) and a
Laserwriter 320 which I really love. I'd like
to continue using the Laserwriter, but I've
been told it might not be possible. I work
in a school where an ethernet printer is
available if I want to run down two flights
of stairs. I like having a printer on my
desk. Can anybody tell me how to get
these two machines to communicate?
be specific, please; I am very new to this!

Not gonna happen for one simple reason: the LW320 drivers don't work under Mac OS 8.5 or higher.

Since the LaserWriter 320 uses QuickDraw, not PostScript, for its printing, there's no easy way around this.

The Laserwriter 320 DOES work running
above 8.5. I have one running on a G4
using 9.2.1.

All you need is a LocalTalk to Ethernet
adapter. I use Farallon's iPrintLT adapter.

Laserwriter 320 is a Postscript printer. You shoild have no problem using it, the driver will be 'laserwriter'. You can get more info from www.info.apple.com, look in knowledge base.
