Try QuicktTime 5.0 or Windows Media Player. Also, do a search for the extensions AVI-->QT and Indeo Video (should be 2 or 3 of these) on VersionTracker.com

I have the same problem... Windows Media only plays the audio part of my avi's and QT plays the broken audio of an avi, RealPlayer (Real One) just gives an error that an add-on is needed but not available.
any suggestions ??

I think most of you guys are missing the appropriate codecs to decompress your avi files. I have Windows Media Player 7.0 and the following codecs installed: -DivX -Indeo I can play any avi file with the above codecs. The codecs are free and can be obtained by doing a search on google.com. Hope this helps.
