I have 8mm reels, need dvd's

Hello, I have 100's of 3in 8mm reels. I paid a service to convert them to dvd. They sent me 2 dvd's. I would like to take out some of the scenes. I have a mac g5. Please help point in the right direction.

If you connect your DVD Player to your MAC You can capture the video and edit it with a program like BTV

This is for the boss's pc, so I don't have a chance to try this, but what if I put the dvds in the G5's internal dvd player, run iMovie to capture them, then swap the source disk with a blank dvd and use iDVD to burn?
