Subject: I am desperate!
OS: 7.1.1
CPU/Ram: 33MHz / 12MB
Model/Manufacturer: Apple Macintosh Powerbook
Comment:

Can anybody please tell me where or how I can download software to run on Mac OS7 which I can put on floppy disk, and put on my Powerbook Duo, without the need for unpacking or unzipping or stuffing. Software which when downloaded, has its own little picture icon which I can click and it just runs!?!?
Thank you!

I assume you mean download with windows and out on
floppy, then onto mac.
Can't be done..only *archives* can be transferred from pc
to mac by floppy..mac programs get corrupted beyond
repair.
You *have* to get stuffit expander onto the mac first, even
an early version can decompress .HQX files...

stuffit is the winzip of mac... you cannot live without it. it is freely available all over the internet, and i think the older copies can fit onto a floppy... which brings us to the next point...

all of your tranfers will be limited to 1.44mb with floppies. listen to dominicus, if you unpack a mac archive in windows, it turns to junk. you would be better off trying to link your mac to the internet.

if you want a really really good site for games, google 'mac abandonware' the first of second link is awesome, and almost all of the titles will work on system 7, and will fit on a floppy.

get stuffit expander, though, kay?

There is room enough for two.
