Comment:

I have an HP Officejet G55 connected to a D-link DP-101P+ print server. I've set the windows machines up to talk to it no problem, but I have a mac here running os x 10.1.2 and i can't get it to work. The problem is the print server only supports appletalk and smb, and the hp driver only supports usb and tcp/ip - I've tried various things but can only get the printer to throw out sheets with garbage at the top.

I found the HP IJS but it says it needs Jaguar and I don't have that.

Anybody got any ideas or suggestions as to how I can get this to work?

Looks to me like you might want to try printing using the lpd capabilities in OS X. However, upgrading to 10.2 would make your job a LOT easier.
