I have a HP cd-writer 8200 series (8220e) that won't work on my iMac (Mac OS 9.2.2).
From the content of <http://www.computing.net/mac/wwwboard/forum/7667.html> I understood that it should work.
When I connect the cd-writer to the computer I get the following message:
Software needed for the USB device "HP USB CD-Writer Plus" is not available. Would you like to look for the software on the internet?
After an OK I get: "Software for this device has not been found."
If I try to start Disc Burner I get a "Please insert blank media" message that won't go away even if I do insert blank media.
I also have Mac OS 10.2 installed.
Any suggestions?Rodrigo Severo

Here's the address for the HP site. If you can't find what you want here, you can email them.

Rodrigo,
Obtain the CD/DVD burning software "Toast Titanium" version 5.1 or later. It has support for the USB HP 8200 series. Unfortunately HP themslelves offer no Mac drivers or support. Toast (owned by Roxio) offers support for OS9/OSX and has regular updates.
