How to release IP on MAC OS9? HELP!

Hello Gents,
I need some help... please! Does any one out there knows how to release IP # on a Mac OS9?
I am trying to connect my PC on cable and I cannot renew IP #. A tech from my cable provider (rogers) told me that I have to release the IP (on shot down) from my mac in order to renew IP on my PC.
So basically, I need my Mac not to retain DCHP lease on shot down.
I don't have a home network. I just switch cables manually from the modem.

Heh. Finally, an easy one :)
Install the TCP/IP Options control panel from your Mac OS CD.
Open it.
Tell it not to retain the lease on shutdown :)
Restart.

Thanks pickle....
When I check (X) -not to retain the lease on shutdown- and restart my Mac and open -TCP/IP Options control panel- is not checked ( ) any more.. so I guess is still retaining the lease on shutdown.
Now I have -Mac OS9- in french..does this matters?
Thanks in advance.

OS language shouldn't matter.
Toss out your TCP/IP prefs and put the TCP/IP Options CP in your Control Panels folder. Restart.
Repeat the "Don't retain DHCP lease" process and reconfigure your TCP/IP control panel for your ISP.

It's on your Mac OS CD. Search for it with Sherlock.
