just got my first mac after many years of using pc's....trying to find out how to make sure the modem is working and is installed correctly....not use to the format of a mac yet and found what is like the control panel on win98 but cant find where to query the modem like you do on win98........can someone help me to figure this out so i can get the mac on the internet.....we have dialup......thanks

you scoll down apple menu to control panels, sub menu to : modem, ppp, tcp ,apple talk, and remote accesss , settings

also check chooser menu, for serial port settings..printer, modem...,
