Hello,

I have a problem to recompile an application on my MAC. GCC version installed is an old one 2.5.x.
I would like to install the last GCC version 4.x.x but I don't know how to install it.
Can anyone of you give me guide lines explaining how to install it or a link to a web site explaining STEP BY STEP how to do this.

Thanks in advance.

Philipina

I would install X Code which can be found on the apple
site. It has a very good IDE and debugging tools as well
as the GCC. X Code installs easily. I just downloaded it
and then clicked on the .dmg file and clicked on the
proper buttons when I was asked to do so.

Another way to go is to install Darwin ports or Fink.
These two packages provide an easy way to install many
programs that have packages made up with script or
macro files that make installation easy. I would start with
Darwin ports first

If you want to do it the hard way I can't help you. There
must be a readme that explains where all the files should
go.
