Have a g3 blue/white, put in a regular windows IDE disk, some ram, and started it up, nothing appears on the monitor at all, except a square white box, the lites of the mac are on, and the hdd and all fans are working, but there are absolutely no beeps.
Any help appreciated, trying to format a fixed disk in windows to mac format w/transmac or mac drive, but access denied, even when switching drive properties to removable drive.Thank you

Try booting the G3 without the HD in it. Obviously it won't let you install an OS but it should at least boot from the CD that way.
Double-check the master/slave settings on the drive, too - if it's the only one on the chain in the Mac, it should be Master.

dos promtp
fdisk /mbr(wipe the master boot record so its clean that dosnt work try wriing zeros to full disk so mac sees a clean slate...
