It's an image file.
Try this program;

ftp://wuarchive.wustl.edu:/systems/mac/u
mich.edu/powermac/jpegview3.31.sit.hqx

NO...It's NOT an "IMAGE file" as in a
GRAPHIC IMAGE that JPEGview or some
other raster app will open. (bob?
Mactech@appleisp.com, eh? where'd ya
get that one? Change it to
Newbie@appleisp.com and you'll be
alright.)
Use Apples own 'Disk Copy' software.
That should do it.

Thanks Hizz! I don't have a burner installed, though.

.img files are image files, but they are disk images. Apple's DiskCopy will mount them, and so to will Aladdin's Shrink Wrap (www.aladdinsys.com)
(you don't need a burner, just a Mac. Once mounted on the desktop the 'image' will look and behave like a mounted disk. To unmount it just drag it to the trash, or highlight the disk icon and press command (apple) + e (for eject))

I have several *.img files and cannot mount them. I tried the mounter that comes with Toast Deluxe, but doesn't recognize the files. Also, I tried DiskCopy 6.3 and doesn't recognize them. If i drag the img file icon to the DiskCopy icon, the program crashes. I don't know what to do with these images. Any idea?
