How do i release the IP on a MAC OS X

I have an ibook G3 clam shell and need to know how to release the IP so that i can switch from the internet conection from IBM to MAC and back again. I don't want to uplug the modem for 3 days. Thanks

Boot into OS 9, install the TCP/IP Options
control panel from the OS CD-ROM, and
check "don't retain DHCP lease on
shutdown."

There's probably a way to do it directly in
OS X, but I haven't explored enough to
know what it is.
