Hi!
I have a MAC G3 OS 9.1 (it was OS 8.1 but I upgraded).. I would like to know what software I need to record music from a tape or other exterior sound source onto my MAC so that it could ultimately be burned to CD. I have a LaCie Burner that works with some sort of program called “Toast Lite.”
I’m desperately interested in learning how to do this as I have VERY old tapes that are deteriorating from when I was a child. I want to preserved them! I also have great music tapes that are falling apart!
Again, as I stated in my earlier post I am FAR from a computer whiz. I’m actually STUPID when it comes to them. I’m working with the computer that my X left me so I wasn’t even there to pick it out. It’s all very confusing to me!! Please keep your explanations SIMPLE like your talking to a moron (which I am in THIS area)
Thanks all!

Hi
The one that I found to be the easiest is
an app called SoundJam 2.5.2.
It has a "record sound from input" feature
which is great for recording from just
about any sound source and
compresses it to MP3 . You can then burn
it in your disc burner. Just plug a cable
from your cassette player into the
microphone jack of your G3 and you are
in business.
Send me your email to the above address if you like and i'll
send you some instructions.
Any moron can do it (joke) heheGood Luck

Go to versiontracker.com.
Do a search for "record" and look through the results for freeware or shareware applications that can record sound.
Pick several, try them out, and keep using the one you like best.
