A friend is constantly getting a message:
"Enter your name and password to update the RSS feed.
To update the RSS feed "NYT > Home Page" you need to log in to the area "(null)" on 10.88.1.18. Your password will be sent in clear text."

My friend dosent use this RSS feed and we wish to disable it because it is becoming somewhat annoying.

We are both at a lose as to how to do this.
Can anybody give us instructions or point us to a good web site?

under acounts check the startup folder
under user check the .profile

under root directory check profile
if you still cant find it go to
http://www.webmin.com
download the tar
decompress it open the terminal app

type su
enter your password
then launch the setup-sh file by typing

./setup-sh
go through the setup process

when its done open a browser and typ
http://127.0.0.1:10000

this will take you to the login screen
127.0.0.1 is the loopback addrss of your system

when your logged in go to the system tab

under system select boot and starup

in here it will have a complete list of all unix based files that load with your system like apache etc...

its also a handy way to config other hidden aspects of the darwin sublayer
