Ever since updating to OSX 10.3, My ip address hasnt changed at all (for over a year now)..I'm on cable .. I have three other (older) machines, and the ip changes regularly on them , every couple of days. I'm only using a hub, but the same thing happens - that is, ip stays the same on the Mac G3, changes on the PC and older macs - even if I bypass the hub and run any of theses directly into the cable modem (an old terayon). Even if I'm booted into OS9 on the G3, it stays the same as the OSX one..admittedly I havent stayed booted into OS9 long, but I can't see why this should be.. My IP has been mistakenly put on certain list for activities I would never ever consider, and it's causing me some grief, especially as time goes by, but no matter how i try to reset the IP , or renew the lease, it still comes up with the same IP.. At the bottom of the control panel in OSX there's also a 'configure IPV6' button, which i know nothing about, except that it's got some lengthy address, and the drop down list for DHCP has 'use DHCP' - which it's currently set to- and also "Use DHCP with manual address' Could either of these be the reason why it;s not changing on this machine only? Help!,,, Thanks!
