keep trying. i've had some problems with high capacity discs, but they eventually show up. i remember reading somewhere that earlier CD-Roms wouldn't be able to read CD-Rs, but i thought that ended around the 16x era. try it in another mac and see what happens.

also make sure the foreign file access and iso900 control/extension panel are active. look in extension manager

there is even a better iso 9660 extension out there...its called joliet volume access and you can find it at versiontracker.com....it reads windows cd's much better with full file names.
Summary: yes, it's mac compliant. it says on the box it's specific for 1998 and 1999 G3 laptops. is it possible that it's not the right thing to attatch a CD-R to or can you attatch anything to a firewire card...
