Hey Mux, I think that I might have found a solution. It's called Divx Doctor II, and it's offered by 3ivx. Download it from the 3ivx site, follow the operating instructions as they are in the Read Me file, and see if it works. Divx Doctor 2 actually changes "Divx (.avi) files" to "3ivx (.mov) Quicktime files". It does this with two codecs that you have to download from the 3ivx site. They are the WMA audio codec and the 3ivx D4 PR1 codec. The D4 PR1 codec is for the video. Read all about it in the Read Me section, it is really clear and informative. It's a little hard to find the WMA codec-You have to click the Frequently Asked Questions link on the Divx Doctor download page and then scroll down to find it. I downloaded a Divx file, transformed it with the doctor, and it is beautiful. I can even watch the movie in Double Screen mode in the Quicktime player and it isn't grainy!! By the way, the Doc doesn't transform the original avi file into a a mov file, but rather makes a brand new mov file that is totally independent of the avi file and sticks it in your "Translated Documents" folder that is buried in the HD. To avoid this go to File, Preferences in Divx Doctor, and choose Ask, and it will ask you where you want to save the new mov file that is about to make for you! Best of all it is fast, at least fast enough....mine took about five minutes. And best of all, after you have your new mov file to watch you can throw away the old avi file! The mov file doesn't need it. But make sure that you check in ALL THREE BOXES at the bottom right hand corner of the Doctor screen. Anyway, you can read the directions yourself, they are quite simple. Happy Downloading!
