i have a mac 4400/200 pc compatible computer, please see
site;
http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/powermac/stats/p
owermac_4400_200.html
i just clean installed 8.1
i installed the mac os software (pc compatible card software)
i created the c drive container with 500mb
i started the pc
i switched to pc
i inserted the windows 95 cd
i get error message; invalid system disk Replace the disk,
and then pres any key.
(note; the floppy has always worked slowly and i have read
that some of these computers were shipped with defective
floppy drives)
But, before i reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled the
above, i was using this computer with windows installed with
no problems, i do remember having to have apple walk me
through the installation process when i got the computer new
a few years ago.

please help
thanks

Befor you switch to PC mode, you Must have the Win95 bootup floppy disk in the folppy drive, the floppy must also have Cd rom driver on it also so you can run setup from the Win 95 CD ROM.

Yeah, the Windows 95 CD isn't bootable. However, that means that you can run its setup program from anywhere, even within Windows 3.1. If you can boot to DOS and get your CD-ROM recognized you will be okay.
