Hi,
I would like to know, if I need a RAID card
for
a RIAD 1 config with 2 matrox 30Go for
data security.
If I use Hard Disk Toolkit™ 4.5.2?

Thx
Eric

IMMSMC: Raid level ONE won't give you
any data security at all. For real security
you need two identical drives, AND write
redundant data to each drive at the same
time. I don't remember which RAID level
this comes under, but ONE is a little
faster than ZERO, and about as safe. It
writes HALF the data to each drive (hence
the speed increase). But if one drive goes
south, then you are left with NOTHING.
With your current setup you may as well
use retrospect (or your s/w of choice) to
backup data from one drive to the other at
regular intervals (maybe set up certain
'hot' folders for a mirror arrangement)
rather than do RAID level one if you are
concerned about data security.
