HELP! AVi files play but sound skips

I can get avi files to play using a dixv player and media player 6.3 on my G3, thanks to reading this message forum! However now my problem is that there either is no sound or the sound skips in and out alot. Please help...

Convert the avi file to a movie files using avi2mov. Then you can actually play it with Quicktime. Check Versiontracker for it. If not e-mail me and I can send a copy and try that.

Me to even my dvd's the sound skips and they play a 2x normal speed. How did you fix yours?
