Comment: hey! I have come to the 'dark' side from many years working with (and building) pc's...Can I say PC here?!?! I have been with my first g4 533mhz Power Mac for err 8 hours now and I have some problems.. Can I access fat32 drives in my mac? Coz I've got loads of mp3 and would like to listen to them...... I am on a home network with 5 'PCs' (they havent seen the light) how can I share files with them? erm guess thats all for now....oh one more strange prob... Sometimes my view like wraps round the screen so I see the left hand side on the right of the screen and vice versa... any help would be ace!

Reply: (edit)1) "Sometimes my view like wraps round the screen": Go To: Apple Menu/Control Panels/Monitors&Sound. Change your screen resolution to a higher number and see which one works with your monitor. 2) Fat32: Not sure, but I really don't think so. I would say NO. If the PC that the drive is in has a CDR or ZIP you could write them to the removable disk and then mount that on your G4. OR: 3) Home network: MANY former posts address this issue. Find them. Read them. Then when you are networked you can transfer your mp3's via ethernet. 3)

Reply: (edit)cheers I'll check the posts on networking, I've actually put the fat32 drive in the mac (I have a few drives full o stuff from the old PC) I kinda expected it to read the drive coz I've used loadsa linux and that has no probs..... But if i can connect over network then I can upload then reformat the download i suppose. I have to say that it will take some getting used to working on a Mac, I mean I've used 99% windows (got bored inthe end) and about 1% linux - I'm no 'geek' tho! Thanks for your help, appriciated as always tom

Reply: (edit)PC Exchange 2.2, which is bundled with Mac OS 8.1, can recognizeFAT32-formatted disks, but you must be running Mac OS 8.1 to use it- to share files w/pc's --check out these software programs: Dave, Timbuktu, PCMaclan
