Hello
I installed a second SCSI 2.1 GB HDD to my PowerMac7500 running 9.1. But it very rarely mounts on startup. How do i make it automount on startup. I have checked the option in Drive Setup. Even drive setup fails to mount it sometimes.

Sounds like a problem with the drive to me. Have you tried a low-level format, zeroing all data, and *then* seeing if it will consistently mount?

Something like SCSI Probe might help as well, since SCSIProbe can mount all the SCSI devices present on the bus at startup.

hello
I dont see a problem with the harddrive...ran every test possible. SCSI probe was no help. FWB HDT was pretty good though..atleast i could use it to mount the disk if it didnt automount on startup. Anyway i noticed that if i used the HDD in question as a startup disk then it always mounted :-). So i swapped the data on the 2 disks that i have and now both disks mount. Funny huh!. Ive tested it for about 10 restarts so far and its working fine :-)

Thanks

Muks
