Have a 9ooMhz G4 Silver had the hard disk replaced in Feb (under warranty) and it has died again (out of warranty) ! I know if I go to the apple centre they will tell me the hard disk is dead and replace and ill be back to the same situation in two months time. Anyone know of a reason why my machine will kill hard disks, and yes the hard disk is dead apple hard disk utility cant see it Nortons 8 cant see it and ive tried it in other computers the hard disk just clicks away (loudly) and never mounts.

900 Mhz Quicksilver is a nice computer.
When they replace the hard drive, they disconnect the old and put new in. i think your connection may have not been tight.
The other possiblity is a less than new replacement.
I have replaced my hard drive and it is an easy chore. If you are interested I could help.

Less than new replacement could have been an option! But still both hard disks I have had in he machine would be no less than 13 months old and both have died!!
I have considered putting in another hard drive but im not sure if i want to risk it
