Hard Disk Problem

I have an external usb maxtor 200gb hard disk that was used to save data, and for some reason i can't retreive data from it. is there any way to get the data from the drive? please note that i'm a pc technician and have no idea of mac. the disk belongs to a customer and is in need of his files. any suggestions ???

Divide and conquer. Is the problem with the hard disk or
the USB case. From what you said, it sounds like the USB
hard drive case that has the problem and the hard drive
itself is OK. I would remove the hard drive from the
current case and put it another USB hard drive case. BTW,
how is it formated? If is a format that WIndoze can
understand then you can plug the hard drive into a PC and
read the data.

The drive is in HSF+ format. When I try to use a recovery util I can get some files but not files that are needed, mostly pics and docs. There are a lot of files that were made with mac and those are the files I can't read.
