I have a blue G3 and at startup it has a green

and then. Is this my video card?

Does it remain green, or does the green go away after several minutes?

It's only green (behind the 9.2 logo) during
startup.

I have changed the video card, I have changed
the pci slot it goes into.

And it still is green, and still flickers.

Have you tried zapping the PRAM and/or tossing out the prefs folder?

Does the Mac OS startup screen look green too, or just the background?

Sounds like a problem with the software, not the hardware.

See if a backup and reinstall helps at all.

If it's OK once it boots, why can't you just ignore it?

Any chance you can get a photograph of what you're talking about, or make a mock-up in an image editor?
