I want to get out of DOS mode. I get emails with attachments that need windows media player and i can not get them on my computer. A box with a whole bunch of symbols and letters pop up and at the top it reads " can not view in DOS mode" I tried to download windows media player for mac but it says the same thing. How do I get out of DOS mode?

Mac's cant read Exe files/.Msi because there only for windows xp. Thats why u get the DOS error.

There is no DOS mode for OS X. Unless you used Boot Camp to put Windows on there and boot to it. Windows has DOS, Macs do not.There is a command line app called Terminal that LOOKS like DOS (Black Screen/Window with white text) but the commands are different and just like DOS yu can royally screw up your computer if you mess around in there. I'd 'zap the PRAM' first (Hold down Option+P+R at the same time) 2-3 times. It's Mac Voodoo but it's known to fix little issues that may crop up with your Mac.
