Message: The computer was doing the monthly backup using carbon copy cloner. It takes awhile so I left it alone to run. The last time I checked it the screen was black. computer won't respond, tried unplugging and replugging all cords. Backup goes to a 300G external Firewire Harddrive. Is there any hope for this??

Its a desktop G5. (2004) pre iSight. I took it in to my local Apple Store and had it checked out. They diagnosed a dead Logic board. Replacement cost too high to justify so I bought a new Intel G5 desktop. Will be selling the old one as soon as I get the hard drive wiped. Thanks for your response. much appreciated.
