I replaced my factory Ultra ATA hard drive with a SCSI drive (IBM DeskStar) connected to an Adaptec Power Domain 2930CU card. The drive runs like a champ, but when I put my system to sleep the monitor blacks out and the drive spins down, only to wake itself up again in a few seconds. This happens every time I try to put the machine to sleep. As a temporary fix I shut down the computer, but this obviously isn't as convenient as putting it to sleep.
I checked the Adaptec website and discovered that there is an issue with the G4's "deep sleep" mode and the 2930 card, but it's a Mac OS9 problem only.
My question is, could it be a jumper setting on the SCSI drive that needs to be changed (there is a handful of them that I can't find documentation for their function) or do you think it has something to do with the SCSI card?
(I also checked the Mac threads for "deep sleep" and tried trashing the Energy Saver preference as recommended for a similar problem. No luck.)
Thank you.

There are several different models of the 2930, and several different firmware versions. Make sure you're using the latest firmware and that there aren't any issues with that *particular* model.
