G4 vs G5

Ok I decided to get an Imac, but would like to know is there any real preformance boost from a G4 1.25ghz system to a G5 1.25ghz system? Are there any real hardware diffrences in the two (besides the packaging)?

Maybe you already heard this elsewhere, but i recall hearing that the G5 was considerably faster - real world (given the same processor speed -if it were possible; the G5 starts out at 1.6 GHZ) than the G4.. Try low end mac's resources for comparison info (obviously they have more than just 'low end' mac info )- http://www.lowendmac.com/ppc/g5.html

the g5 1.6 is much faster and is 64bit processor and much faster bus speeds. here is more info (http://www.apple.com/g5processor/)

The G5 is MUCH faster than the G4... the G4 isn't even worth buying now. The main improvement in the G5 is the (much) faster 800+MHz bus, compared to the G4's slow 167MHz bus.
