do you hear ANY noise from the machine when trying to
turn it on? such as the HD spinning, etc...?

have you tried booting from an external HD ?

ok try to see if the caps lock light turn on when you press
it. if it does, make sure the light is on and press the power

if the first method doesn't work try to start up the
computer and immediatly hold down the comand,
option,p, and r keys until uyou hear the startup sound
twice

i put a volt meter on the power adapter and i'm getting power from it, but no lights at all turn on when its plugged in and nothing @ all happens when i press the power button or any other key sequences... the laptop has been on my desk pretty much for ever.. i used to travel a bit and used it for that but lately its been in one spot never moved and it stopped responding is it possible that the battery died and needs the battery to turn on???

Hi, i has some similar problen, so take a look behind the computer, there are a button which have the play symbol(the same as in the radio, you know) so what you need to do is to push it, a few times and then turn on the computer.(if this helped you please respond this email, i will be happy to hear fron you).
