My powerbook and one of my desktop G5 Imacs takes FOREVER to shut down. I select shut down from the menu, hit the button for immediate so it doesn't wait for two minutes, then wait for 2 to 5 minutes. After a few seconds of HD churning, the destop icons go away, then there is no sound, only my screen background picture. Ive tried quiting everything before shutting down and that has zero effect. Anybody know how to fix this? It delays getting home for dinner by 5 minutes!
