Im looking at buying a MacBook Pro, which I think is a awesome computer. I have a WUSBF54G which is a Linksys WUSBF54G Wireless-G USB Network Adapter with Wi-Fi Finder. I bought it but I doesnt say its for Apple either. Now I know alot of you will say well the cards inside you dont need that, but I always like to have a backup. Because when I really need the net something will go wrong with that part of the computer. Is there a driver I can install for the mac to run it? Or Would the Virtual PC, which im going to get because this is my very first mac and its going to be a little adjustment to go over 100%... Would I just use that?

I've done some searching online (not a lot of extensive
searching but a little here and there) and according to all
the reviews and even linksys' website this product is only
supported on the Windows OS. If you can find some very
ambitious and enterprising people who have developed
their own driver to work with the Mac OS you will be
blessed. Otherwise I am not sure if you will be able to get
this product to work on the Mac platform.

In regards to your Virtual PC option, that might work but I
wouldn't rely on that. Virtual PC itself is an emulator
platform that you install Windows on top of so
theoretically it should work that way since you are running
Windows on your Mac. I have heard of applications having
speed and performance issues while running in Virtual PC.

In short, if you already own the wireless scanner, Virtual
PC and a Mac it will never hurt to try and see what the
result is. Otherwise, I wouldn't spend the extra money to
buy something you are not sure will work.

Good luck!
