Help! I work on my school's website but lost the ability to do so. When I FTP to the site, I get messages like "Connection Failed" or "Check Your Proxy Settings", depending on what program I use (GoLive, IE, or Fetch). I don't get the login window (user ID, password) like I use to. It worked on this computer in the spring. Since then, I've changed cable modems (from RCA to Motorola SB5100). I don't think I've intentionally changed anything else. How can I get the login screen to appear again? Any ideas. I've an iMac 500mhz and 256 mb of memory. Let me know. Thanks! (I searched the messages and couldn't find any relevant messages. I've already tried trashing network preferences.

What type of OS are you running on the iMac?

IF using OSX utilize the Terminal program to connect to the server.
[username:~] username% ftp
ftp>open ipaddress

you know the rest~!

I'm assuming you have no problem accessing web pages? Is it just that ftp server or are there others?
