When computer freezes,it won't reboot via
the reset button on the outside.Have to
open it up and reboot by pressing the tiny
button inside.
Replaced the battery,corrected the time
problem but this won't go away.
Motherboard trouble?
Thx for any help,
Doug

Actually, had that prob quite a bit on my 7200 at first, and, nope, not likely the motherboard...just single threadedness..for all it's elegance the classic Mac OS isn't really a truly multithreaded system....so when a bad freeze occurs the reset switch on the keyboard, or the main unit itself often can be ineffective..sometimes it takes holding it in for a bit, or trying 2 0r 3 times...you shouldn't hae to open it up though...i know it's a terribly crude solution but simply unplugging it and restarting should work,,if unplugging it doesn't reset your unit, then yeah, you might have something on the board needing adjusting.
Is there any specific program or type of application that seems connected with the freezing? You might find deleting your prefs files (ater backing them up, in case), so that the apps can replace them with new ones, or replacing the associated extensions with new ones, could alleviate the problem.. otherwise OS 9 should be a very stable version of the classic Mac OS (I imagine 9.2 would be so as well, but i dont have any direct experience with that one)...
Best of luck...
