you can also use zamzar to convert them from FLV to something more widely compatible (like mov or mp4) ..they'll email you a link to download the converted file... I'm surprized just everyone doesn't know about zamzar by now... http://www.zamzar.com

a quick and easy way to download .flv movies from youtube is to use Safari and go the url of the video you wish to download. Then open up the activity menu -
window/activity/
then select the movie from the list, check for the formate in the description and the size of the file also help indicate what you are. Double click the file and the video will download once the file has completely uploaded through Safari

Try TubeTV or TubeSock. Both native Mac applications. TubeTV is freeware.
