Hi, I'm wondering where I could find a free word processor for Mac (OS 7.5) which is compatible with Word (for Windows). I would also like some language tools (spell checker, grammar checker, thesaurus, etc.) that either come with the word processor or can be added on it. Thanks.

WordPerfect 3.5e is probably your best bet. It's available from the link in the headers of my post.

I searched all over the place for WordPerfect 3.5e, but the links didn't work. I even went to www.corel.com and searched their website but couldn't find it. Where can I get the program?

Took me 3 whole seconds to find it:

Oh, hey, look, a WORKING LINK for WordPerfect 3.5e. Exactly where I said it would be.

Next time, try a little harder.

Thanks. Now I have another question: will it work on my LC 630 running OS 7.5? I hope so...

Sorry if my questions annoy you, but I like to be sure of what I'm doing. (One can see what kind of computer I have from my system specs in my original post, and I hope that information is kept in mind when making suggestions.)

To restate and clarify my original question: Where can I get a free word processor for my Mac (LC 630 running OS 7.5) which is compatible with Word (for Windows) and comes with or can incorporate language tools?

I noticed Nisus Writer 4.1.6, but is it compatible with Word?

Dude.

The link I sent you is SPECIFICALLY FOR 68K MACS.

How much more sure of what you're doing do you need to be? There isn't any information in that entire site that DOESN'T apply to 68K Macs.

I thought as much, but then why does it say, "WordPerfect 3.5e, runs on nearly every Macintosh ever made (with the exception of the 68000-based Macs)."

Also, is Nisus Writer 4.1.6 compatible with Word?

That's 68000, not 68K. As in the SE, Plus, etc.

Thanks for clarifying that.

And the Nisus Writer 4.1.6?
