i am completely new to macs so please excuse my ignorance. How do i format the hard drive on my G3 laptop? step by step would be very handy..Thanks in Advance

Two ways.

1) Restore the system using the restore CD and
choose ERASE and RESTORE.

2) Boot from the Restore CD and Run DISK
UTILITY. Initialize the Drive.

I always partition my drives with at least 2
partitions. One to install the Applications to and
one for the System. The system is less likely to
become corrupted and if I do have to restore the
system, all of my applications are still there.
