I have an iMac 350 mhz with a slot loading cdrom. I put a cd in the other day and it never mounted it. All it does is make this fluttering noise and keep spinning up. Here is a list of what I've tried: holding down left click on boot up, holding option-apple-o-f and typing eject cdrom(it said it couldn't find the eject device), eject from iTunes, and /usr/bin/hdiutil eject disk0s1-8(9 is my harddrive). Is my drive broken or is there something else I need to try?

Okay, the cd will not mount. So I can't drag it down to the trash. And it doesn't look like I can start with extensions off. I don't have an os 9 version on my computer. I tried using a paper clip and acctually moved something, but it's still making the same noise.

I finally got the cd out. I just put a key into the middle of the drive and stopped the disc for a couple of seconds. It finally just spit it out. Evidently just a bad cd, others are working now. Thank you for your help :)
