Hi, We have recently installed a new Apple G5 2.5 Ghz running O/S 10.3.5. I have copied all the old Quark files, etc over to the new computer from the previous G3 running O/S 9.1.1. When I open them on the new G5 the Mac is unable to see the fonts. I have tried collecting for output on the old Mac and then copying those fonts over to the new system using Suitcase 10.1.3. However, Suitcase will not let me select the fots as they are in grey and in the background - this also seems to be the case with the standard font book. how do I copy the old fonts over so I can open the Quark documents on the new G5? Anyone any ideas please? Thx!
Dan

yourHD/System Folder/Fonts
yourHD/users/yourusername/library/fonts/
the first path is for Mac OS 9 applications.
the second path is for Mac OS X applications.
If your version of QuarkXPress is running under Classic environment then place the font files into the system folder/fonts/. and into /users/yourusername/library/fonts/ if your version of Quark is for Mac OS X.
If you are using Suitcase for Mac OS 9 under classic environment in Mac OS X then it will not function properly.
hope this works, if not feel free to reply here or email me at wackymacs@spymac.com
