I have a 400 MHz, G3 iMAC with 10 gig hard drive. I have the flashing question mark when I boot up computer. Tried turning off my extensions, re-installing my system software with the software installation disk, reset the PRAM; all to no success.
Tried using Nortons Utilities and Disk Doctor but the computer won't load the software, the question mark continues to flash.
Now the CD drive won't accept any disks, it ejects any disk after a few seconds. I thought the hard drive was bad so I bought and installed a new hard drive. Still, CD drive rejects the disks and the question mark continues to flash.
Any suggestions on what I can do? Should I change the battery? Is there a reset button inside my computer, people tell me to reset this but I don't know where it is. Any ideas are appreciated.

Grab the service manual - it'll tell you where the reset is.
Hint: google for gamba or hit the FAQ link in the header of my post.
p

thanks for suggestion.
I tried the reset button on the motherboard and also changed the internal battery (CMOS?).
Getting ready to give up. Anyone have any other suggestions?
