Not true.
Final Cut 3 will run on OS9 and OSX.
To be precise on the OS9 side, it requires
OS 9.2.2. See the link below, and go to the bottom of the page for specs.

It will run happily on a G4 400+

I know Premiere and Final Cut Pro as an
advanced user. And I teach both
softwares too. Final Cut looks better,
works better is much more intuitiv and
user friendly.

I am about to make a purchase of a G4 with dual displays and 512MG
Would you please give me an idea if Final cut express is enough to make television commercials, or am I a lot better off with FCP 3.
I have been using premiere 6.5 with title deko and hollywood fx gold. Will FcP 3 do a lot more than premeire in the effects dept?
Is it comparable? ...or better, and in what way.

Again, if you can afford to buy that setup for work, the IRS won't be mad when you write it off on your taxes, so buy Final Cut Pro. You aren't paying for it in the end anyway.
