Hello,
Here is the situation:
4 Mac's - PowerMac G4's running 9.2, all running TCP/IP and Appletalk.
They connect to each other for file sharing purposes. They are all on the same IP domain, and Appletalk is active on all.
One of the machines moves down a floor in the building, and now has a different IP address, gateway and subnet mask.
I can connect to the other Mac's through Chooser by specifying the IP address of the machine being connected to, and it works fine.
The other Mac's can connect to the moved machine through Chooser by specifying the IP address of the moved machine, and it works fine.
However,
The moved machine does not appear any longer by machine name in the Chooser list of any of the other machines. Even after I connect to it successfully through TCP/IP, it does not remain as an option.
Likewise, on the moved machine, there are no longer ANY machines listed in the Chooser under Appleshare.
Possible solutions to get the machine back on the Chooser list?
Could Appletalk not be allowed on that floor?
Filesharing and Appletalk are enabled and active on all machines. Filesharing has been stopped and restarted on the moved machine as well as the other machines. Still no moved machine appearing in the Chooser/Appleshare list, and no machines for the moved machine appearing in the Chooser/Appleshare list either.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
-Dan

The other floor is probably on a different AppleTalk zone. Talk to your network guys and see what they can do about it.
