file sharing password

I am trying to network my 2 computers through a router on TCP/IP. When I type in the ip address file sharing asks me for a password. I never put one in to begin with and I can't bypass the window without one. Is there anyway to start over.

Try clicking OK without entering a password; if you actually *did* leave the password field blank during setup that'll work fine.

Can't you go to the mac in question's file sharing control panel and delete the password, thus needing none to login? I ask this because it sounds like a solution. I don't know if it will work.
