Comment:

This is a really odd question. So I have an external hard drive connected to my desktop running vista and I want to access it via my ethernet LAN with my Macbook. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can rig this to work? Thanks

you'll have to network the computer and share the drive.

on the mac in the finder >> connect to server
smb//vista'sip//drive/
enter user login and password

(just an idea)
