explorer crash --need help

I'm trying to reload explorer on my mac--it's stopped opening. I've got the original disk and it comes up with an error telling me to delete the "webding" folder, but I can't delete it off of the installation disk. I've also tried to re-install my OS and that's getting hung up at explorer. Any suggestions?
