Files with the extension .exe are programs. The will only run under a Windows OS. Virtual PC will emulate windows on you MAC. I does a good job. I have Virtual PC and on my 233Mhz Mac it runs about as fast as my 166Mhz IBM laptop.
You can open any Windows format file on a Mac. Sometimes you must start a word processing program like Appleworks or Nisuswriter then select the file you want to open. Otherwise you may get a message that says the Mac cant find the app that created the file.

Some .exe files are self-extracting zipped files that can be opened with zip to mac type programs. Haven't needed one for years but some folks will zip graphic files occasionally. The type of program you need is out there.
Summary: A friend emailed a video in an .exe file. I downloaded the bink player so that it could open the .exe file on my mac. However, the file is not bink type. Is there anyway I can open the .exe file witho...
Summary: Yes, you can up-zip .exe files on a mac, Stuffit Expander 5.5 should do the job.... but I have no clue why would want to... you can't use it on a Macintosh!! You need VPC.. Or just get IBM.......
